Our Story

In 2013, we made the life-changing decision to move from the UK to Colombia, and it was the best decision we ever made! For four years, we explored one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, experiencing its stunning landscapes, rich cultures, and magical energy. We knew we wanted to bring a piece of that 'Sabrosura Colombiana' back to the UK, sharing the joy and warmth we found there with others.
¡Hola!
We are Tom & Suzanna
A.K.A. Los Dos Gringos
'Sabrosura' : is a uniquely Colombian word that captures the country's vibrant spirit and charm.
It describes the infectious rhythm, warmth, joy and zest for life that makes Colombian culture so unforgettable. It's found in the natural charisma and hospitality of Colombian people; the rhythm and music that seems to run through their veins; their resilience, optimism and vibrant energy, and, of course, the incredible flavours of Colombian cuisine.
More than a single definition, Sabrosura is a way of life.
The Name
In Colombia, and lots of other Latin American countries, the word 'Gringo' is a friendly (or sometimes teasing) term for a foreigner. During our time there, locals often called us ‘Gringos’. We embraced the humour of it and thought it perfectly captured the spirit of our Colombian-inspired business. And so, Los Dos Gringos was born!
Our Mission:
Our mission is simple: To empower people to make choices that bring joy into their lives. From the Caribbean sunshine, the ancient indigenous cultures, the laughter-filled parties, lively music and warm hospitality that inspire our café, we want every visit to offer the joyous feel of a mini escape. We also take joy in offering ethically sourced Colombian coffee and chocolate, plant-based options, and sustainable choices, so our customers can make an impact while indulging in what they love.
Values & Inspiration:
We’re passionate about celebrating Colombia and delivering genuinely warm and consistently excellent hospitality. About promoting social enterprise and global citizenship, empowering plant-based lifestyles, and protecting the environment. At Los Dos Gringos, we hope every customer leaves knowing their choices matter, no matter how small. As Jane Goodall liked to remind us:
‘You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.’
